Satellite picture of your house
Keyhole is a new tool that google has recently bought and added to its tool-box. It provides the users with satellite pictures of the earth surface. I tried to find our home in Iran, but unfortunately except the Uranium enrichment sites, the pictures were not clear over Iran. However the quality of pictures over Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq is better. Over the major cities of the world, maps have more details, for example the quality of pictures over Paris is car-size clearance; but the best quality can be found over major American cities, where you can spot people walking on streets and you can count the thick branches of trees, and the ultimate quality is over San Diego down town, objects as big a credit card can be detected! The other interesting thing is that you can easily find the GPS location of the chair that you are currently sitting on, as well as the elevation from the sea level.
The only problem is that some pictures are old. I was virtually flying over Georgia Tech and noticed the construction had been undergoing around March 2002. Hey guys, It's time to renew the pictures!
Also it was very cool to fly over places that I visited on the ground during the fall break!

April and Kenya,
If in for example Google Local you type your zip code, you can see your neighbourhood, and probably your house.
To redirect to Google Local, click here .
