According to this year graduate school ranking by U.S. News & World Report, Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech has experienced a dramatic jump from 6th in 2003 to 2nd this year. That is a very good news; that means our school is highly investing on the new century technologies, which on top of all are Biomedical technologies. At least as a MEMS designer, I like more investment in this field and consequently more research opportunities for me!
I have a friend who is an undergrad student in BioMed. She is exactly experiencing the same intensified coursework schedule that I used to suffer a decade ago when studying in Electronics field (but at Sharif). Today when I saw the ranking, I felt a bit relieved; because now I can predict that a friend of mine will prefer to stay at Tech for the graduate studies.
